Game On! Play Your Way to Financial Freedom

Orlando, Fla. (Ivanhoe Newswire) — It’s something we can’t live without, money! But why is it so difficult to save? This year, 40 percent of U.S adults say they are prioritizing their savings. But it can be hard and exhausting. Financial freedom

Does it feel like every time you save a few bucks, you then spend a few bucks more? One way to help you save money and have financial freedom? Game-ify it!

Love doing challenges? Take on the pantry challenge. If you have food in your fridge or in the freezer, use them instead of eating out and see how long you can do it. A survey by US Foods found that the average American spent 191 dollars per month dining out at restaurants. And according to one poll, most people end up throwing out 53 dollars’ worth of spoiled food a week. That adds up to almost 28 hundred dollars a year.

Playing the saving game is always tough, but one fun way is to use a deck of cards! Each week draw a card to determine your savings goal. Numbered cards are worth 10 times their face value, so a five is 50 dollars or a nine is 90 dollars, face cards and aces are worth one hundred. The total value of the card you draw each week is the amount you aim to save that week.

Another way, compete with friends or family, like on a budget bingo game! Create a bingo card and mark down things like ‘Pack lunch’ or ‘Don’t spend this weekend.’ The first one to get a bingo, wins a small prize for their efforts.

If you have the chance try the DIY challenge game, challenge yourself to make things at home instead of buying them, like cleaning supplies and gifts. This game can be a fun way to save money or learn new skills.
