Surprising Hazards in Your Home: There are certain things that most parents wouldn’t consider to be a danger to their children at home, but could potentially be harmful. One example is exercise equipment and home gyms. In fact, over 25,000 kids each year are injured due to in-home exercise equipment. Some of the more dangerous equipment includes hand weights and treadmills or elliptical machines with cords. If you have an in-home gym, block that area off so that children cannot go in. Bathtubs can also be hazard, even if there is only a small amount of water in the tub. Children can drown in an inch of water, so closely supervise bath time and don’t leave the child alone in the tub, even if the water is draining. (Source: www.nydailynews.com)
